24 Hour Comic Day: Falling — page 2
Oct08
The falling continues in today’s comic and we meet Bird.
When I originally thought about the comic I thought it was going to be all black and white, but I found that the only real way to communicate the idea of never-ending sky was by using a block of bright color. Though to be fair this is pretty common in my comics and I think gives it my “look” (I’m not sure if that is a good or a bad thing).
I will say in hindsight I wish I had spent a bit more time on Bird. He ends up looking like a strange cross between the twitter bird and bird from Nerdroid.com. Which is definitely not a bad thing, but I’m not sure if it is exactly what I wanted to portray with the Bird character.
As much as I’ve seen, 24-Hour Comics Day is not about refining birds, but about completing a story. So, hey, if a bird suffers in the process, oh well. :)
The blocks of color also help resolve any brain wobbles created by the repeated presence of falling guy
