I’ve been on again off again with soda (or as we here in the south call it Coke), SOOOO many times, and once again I’m deciding to pull away from soda. I’m not quite at the point where I will abandon it completely, but I do want to really limit how much I intake (I’ve gone over 4 or 5 a day).
I just hope that soda and I can remain friends, and I hope my stomach understands that I’m doing this for our good.

I’ve cut myself down from 1-2 cans of soda a day to 1 a week (at most). I still drink flavored seltzer (not the sweetened kind, but the stuff that’s basically carbonated water w/lemon/lime/orange oil) so that hits the “need fizzy drink” buttons. When I do drink soda, I make sure it’s the kind with actual sugar (not HFCS).
It hasn’t caused any remarkable weight loss, but over the last few years my eyesight has improved considerably, so much so my optometrist wanted to know what I’d been doing to my diet to cause such an improvement.
Of course, I know drink A LOT more coffee than I ever thought I would….but I don’t put nearly as much sugar in that as a can of Coke has.
